We booked a spa day which lived up to our expectations. The only disappointment was the meal options, pretty bland. Next time we will have the afternoon tea. The facilities and staff did an amazing job. Great massage, would definitely book again.

I had previously rated 5 star, but have downgraded as the Midland has lost some of its Victorian grandeur since takeover by Jury's Inn, including intrusive/inappropriate music at breakfast, lower quality food choices (eg. signature creamy scrambled egg has been replaced with a dried up, run of the mill affair) and degraded check in experience for regular guests. Just downgraded to one star due to lengthy delays on check in (one person behind desk with long queue of guests) and several faults with room on last stay including air conditioning not working.

A beautiful hotel bang in the centre of town. It has an old world charm and adds beauty to the Manchester City centre area. The interior is also beautifully built and well maintained. There are meeting rooms and a spa. It also has a history about being the place where the idea of Rolls Royce developed. The rest is history.

Huge hotel, our room was plentiful with two king size beds but in reality felt like two doubles. There's no mini bar here as they've stopped but room service for drinks and food is available. The spa and pool is lovely albeit the pool is on the small side. Treatments work like clockwork. Robes and slippers available if you ring down to concierge. Our room wasn't available when we checked in so was offered two complimentary drinks from the bar. Really busy hotel but it doesn't feel over crowded.

We were there for the new "brunch " menu. The surrounding were lovely, the whole ambience was great, however the food let it down. Some of it was nice, but most of it seemed to have been cooked and kept "warm " (I use that term loosely ). So would not go back for this again.
